Coronavirus Pandemic: Don’t Fear, Fight It With Self-Care

The outbreaks have been common in modern times, but some outbreaks become a pandemic like Coronavirus that’s rapidly claiming several lives around the globe. Coronavirus has affected several countries and territories, with many countries, including India announcing a nationwide lockdown asking people to stay at home, and take care of themselves.

What is Corona Virus?  

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) was first identified in Wuhan, Central China in 2019. The disease has now affected many countries as it can easily spread from one person to another. The common symptoms that show up in a COVID-infected patient are fever, cough, muscle pain, shortness of breath, sore throat and gastrointestinal problems like diarrhoea. But if these mild symptoms progress, it can lead to severe pneumonia and multi-organ failure. In order to avoid such complications, start noticing the symptoms in advance.

How to fight Corona Virus?

You can reduce the risk of getting COVID-19 infection by observing social distancing, maintaining respiratory hygiene, washing your hands properly and seeking early medical care.

And if you are by any chance diagnosed with COVID-19, then observing self-isolation is a must.

Why is hygiene important?

COVID-19 is a communicable disease, so to prevent any kind of transmission one must follow overall good personal hygiene. While maintaining social distancing is important, it is also important to stay clean and hygienic.

What are the things to keep in mind?

Hand washing

Contaminated hands have chances to transfer virus when you rub your eyes, scratch your nose or touch your mouth. As the virus thrives on hands therefore, health experts suggest washing hands religiously.


It is advised to stay at home to avoid the spread of the virus. But staying indoors doesn’t mean staying away from the shower. Use a good soap or a shower gel to stay clean and fresh all day.  Please note, using hot water does not kill this virus. But taking bath can wash away the germs and help you stay hygienic.

Face washing and grooming

Wash your face and remove all the germs and impurities. Men with beards should ensure that their chin hair does not pass the face mask. The unsealed beard has chances to come in contact with germs.   

COVID-19 death toll has been rising everyday. But we can fight it bravely by maintaining basic personal hygiene. Starting today, let’ ensure our hands are sanitized and hygiene kept in mind.
